This is a product of fusion baking, using up most leftover ingredients in the refrigerator.

INGREDIENTS
1 cup butter
1/2 cup maple syrup
2 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt

DIRECTIONS
- Soften butter and maple syrup using an electric mixer into a large bowl.
- In another bowl, mix flour and salt, gradually stir this into the butter mixture until combined.
- Shape batter into walnut-sized balls, slightly pressing top to flatten. Line the balls onto a baking sheet and bake in a 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) preheated oven for about 12 minutes.
- Makes 24 cookies
