"An elegant pastry recipe that can even be served during special occasions and holidays."

INGREDIENTS
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
1 cup white sugar, divided
1 egg yolk
3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
18 slices bread, crust removed
3/4 cup butter, melted
|
DIRECTIONS
- Whisk cream cheese, 1/4 cup sugar and egg yolk into a bowl.
- In a separate shallow bowl, combine 3/4 cup sugar and cinnamon.
- Brush one side of the bread with cream cheese mixture. Roll bread in a jelly-roll manner and dip into melted butter. Roll into the sugar mixture and line on a medium-sized baking sheet. Cover with foil and freeze for an hour or preferably longer.
- Turn the oven on to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Remove the rolls from the freezer and discard the cover. Bake for about 25 minutes.
- Makes 18 servings
