| This recipe provide nutritional benefits and a great taste as well. You may add raisins, currants or nuts as desired. |

INGREDIENTS
* 1 cup rolled oats
* 1 cup buttermilk
* 1/2 cup vegetable oil
* 1 egg
* 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
* 1 cup all-purpose flour
* 1 teaspoon baking powder
* 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
* 1/2 teaspoon salt

DIRECTIONS
- Combine oats and buttermilk. Leave it to stand for half hour.
- Mix oil with egg and brown sugar and into the oat mixture.
- Mix flour with baking powder, soda and salt. Add and combine it with the oat mixture then pour in a greased and floured 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch loaf pan.
- Place it into the oven and bake for about an hour at 350 degrees F.
