For less than the cost of a Big Mac, fries and a Coke, you can buy a loaf of fresh bread and some good cheese or roast beef, which you will enjoy much more.

This bread recipe is very simple and easy to do but the consistency of the bread is so good and the outer part is perfect. Remember these; a full grown banana creates better tang so use them. And also the oat that was used in this recipe is called steel-oats they are not the same ones that you can get in an ordinary grocery store, you can actually get from stores that sell specialty items.

    INGREDIENTS

    • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
    • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
    • 1 cup quick cooking oats
    • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
    • 1/4 cup powdered buttermilk
    • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
    • 1 cup mashed bananas
    • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
    • 1/3 cup steel cut oats
    • 1/3 cup boiling water
    • 1/4 cup warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
    • 1 egg
    DIRECTIONS

    • First you must saturate the oats in boiling water then leave it cool down to room temperature.
    • Put all the ingredient on the bread machine plate as directed by the machine producer, then set off the machine to the Cycle setting, and then push the Start button. If the machine that you use has a fruit setting add the nuts when it indicates you to do so or if the selection is not available just add them in five minutes after the kneading cycle is about to be done.
