Great snacks to prepare for your kids, ensuring a healthy treat even when you’re not around.

INGREDIENTS
2/3 cup Butter Flavor Crisco or 2/3 Butter Flavor Crisco stick
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg, separated
2 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon water
1/2 cup finely chopped almonds

DIRECTIONS
- Prepare the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease an 8 x 8-inch pan and reserve.
- Soften Butter Flavor Crisco, sugar, egg yolk, milk and almond extract in a medium mixing bowl. Stir in flour and press well over the prepared pan.
- In a small mixing bowl, beat egg white with water until foamy. Brush mixture over dough and top with sprinkles of almonds. Press the nuts slightly over dough using your fingertips.
- Place it into the preheated oven to bake for 20 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes and cut into a dozen bars.
