    Almond-Crumb Scones

    INGREDIENTS

    Almond Streusel:

    • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine (firm)
    • 3 tablespoons Gold Medal® all-purpose flour
    • 2 tablespoons sugar
    • 2 tablespoons finely chopped almonds, toasted

    Dough:

    • 1/2 cup butter or margarine (firm)
    • 2 cups Gold Medal® all-purpose flour
    • 1/4 cup sugar
    • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 cup chopped almonds, toasted
    • 1 egg
    • 1/2 cup half-and-half
    DIRECTIONS

    • Set your oven to 400 degrees F,
    • Combine the butter into the rest of the ingredients until the texture of the mixture becomes flaky and then let it rest.
    • To make the dough; combine together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and butter using a big mixing container and then add in the almonds and eggs and then mix well until it is not pasty.
    • Place the dough into a lightly floured board and then start kneading the dough for around ten times and then place it into 9 inch round cookie sheet. Dust it off with streusel and then flatten it . Slice into eight wedges without separating.
    • Place it inside the oven and let it cook for fifteen minutes. Take the wedges off the cookie sheet right away and then hand them out warm.
